PETALING JAYA, September 19 2026, The Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) is enhancing benefits under the Employment Insurance System (SIP), allowing contributors to receive up to RM25,000 in total support and protection per person from Oct 1.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the enhancements include increasing the Early Re-employment Allowance from 25 per cent to 50 per cent of the remaining Job Search Allowance.
Contributors who secure new employment more than 100 kilometres from their residence will also receive a one-off Mobility Assistance Allowance of RM1,000.
The daily training allowance will increase from RM10 to RM30, while the maximum training fee will be raised from RM4,000 to RM7,000.
Ramanan said the improvements are aimed at helping contributors secure new jobs, access career advice and upgrade their skills in line with current labour market needs.
Meanwhile, platform providers have contributed RM1.514 million to extend social protection coverage to 500 e-hailing drivers and p-hailing delivery riders.
