WASHINGTON: Democrats in the United States House of Representatives have introduced a resolution to impeach President Donald Trump under 13 articles. "The resolution...accuses Donald J. Trump, US President, of high crimes and misdemeanors," according to the text of the document, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported. The document accuses Trump of starting wars and assassinations, committing war crimes and piracy on the high seas. "Trump has unconstitutionally initiated wars of aggression or mutual hostility against Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Nigeria and Gaza. "He has threatened military force against Panama, Colombia, Cuba and Greenland. In all of these efforts, President Trump has acted without the congressional authorization required by the Constitution," the resolution said. Democrats also accused the president of introducing a military element into domestic law enforcement, a series of unconstitutional arrests and deportations, retaliation against constitutionally protected speech or association, sabotaging the rule of law and other crimes. -- BERNAMA-SPUTNIK/RIA NOVOSTI

US rescues “severely injured, very brave” F-15 fighter jet crew from Iran – Trump

ISTANBUL: US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the US had rescued a "seriously injured and very brave" F-15 fighter jet crew from a mountainous region in Iran, Anadolu Agency reported . Trump said on his Truth Social social media platform that the rescued officer was a “highly respected Colonel,” adding that such operations are “rarely undertaken due to the risk to personnel and equipment.” "The second rescue operation was carried out after the first operation, when we rescued the pilot in broad daylight, which was also extraordinary, spending seven hours in Iranian airspace. An operation that showed extraordinary courage and expertise by all parties!" he said. "I will hold a press conference with the military in the Oval Office, White House on Monday, at 1 pm," he added. Trump earlier on Sunday said the US had rescued a military officer in "one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in US history." Noting that the officer was injured, Trump said he "will be fine." Trump Says US Will ‘Leave’ Iran In 2-3 Weeks

WASHINGTON, April 1 -- US President Donald Trump said Tuesday that American forces will leave Iran within “two to three weeks", signalling an end to the ongoing attacks against Iran, Anadolu Ajansi reported. “All I have to do is leave Iran, and we’ll be doing that very soon,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “We’ll be leaving very soon,” he said, adding that it will happen in “maybe two weeks, maybe three.” He claimed the administration’s objective of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon has already been achieved, saying, "They will have no nuclear weapon. And that goal has been attained.” Trump also argued that US strikes had severely degraded Iran’s military capabilities, asserting it could take “15 to 20 years” for Tehran to rebuild. “We'll be leaving very soon, and if France or some other country wants to get oil or gas, they'll go up through the Strait,” he said. “They'll be able to fend for themselves. I think it'll be very safe, actually, but we have nothing to do with that.” The US and Israel have been carrying out airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, killing more than 1,340 people so far, according to Iranian authorities. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel along with Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets. At least 13 US service members have been killed since the war began, according to US official figures, and the conflict has driven up energy prices and affected shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which is a critical global oil chokepoint, with a significant portion of global oil shipments passing through it.

ISTANBUL, March 30 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- US President Donald Trump said Sunday that the United States (US) has already begun taking steps to control the Strait of Hormuz amid the war with Iran, Anadolu Ajansi reported. Asked in an interview with Israel’s Channel 14 whether Washington is capable of taking control of the strategic waterway, he replied: “Yes, sure, it’s already happening.” Trump also highlighted what he described as close coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Iran. “The coordination is very close. We have a good relationship. It couldn’t be better,” he said. He added that he believes Iran “badly” wants a deal. “I think they want to do (it) very badly. Anybody would want a deal if you are getting decimated, right?” he said. WASHINGTON, March 27 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- US President Donald Trump said Thursday that he is delaying his deadline to bomb Iran's energy infrastructure until April 6, citing progress in negotiations, Anadolu Ajansi reported. "As per Iranian Government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of Energy Plant destruction by 10 Days to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 P.M., Eastern Time," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. "Talks are ongoing and, despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the Fake News Media, and others, they are going very well," he added. Trump signalled uncertainty earlier about whether the US is willing to strike a deal with Iran, even as he claimed Tehran is eager to negotiate. “They're not fools. They're very smart, actually, in a certain way. And they're great negotiators," he said at a Cabinet meeting at the White House, but called the Iranian side "lousy fighters." Iran is "begging" to make a deal, he added. "They're great negotiators, and they are begging to work out a deal. I don't know if we'll be able to do that. I don't know if we're willing to do that," he said. Trump boasted about eliminating Iran's entire leadership and said survivors are unable to communicate.
