MENGKUANG TITI, May 27 — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim yesterday officiated the launch of Faisal Halim’s DNA Football Academy in Mengkuang Titi, describing the initiative as an important step towards empowering grassroots football development and discovering young sporting talents in the country. Anwar said the academy would serve not only as a football training centre, but also as a platform to nurture discipline, fighting spirit and self-confidence among the younger generation. He expressed confidence that the future of Malaysian sports depends on continuous efforts to shape young talents with strong values such as hard work, discipline and commitment. JOHOR BAHRU, May 25 — Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has congratulated 49 Community Developers in the field of KEMAS Culinary Skills for their outstanding achievement at the World Chefs Championship 2026 held in Johor Bahru from May 21 to 23, yesterday. Zahid described the team’s success in bringing home 48 medals from the international-level competition, which involved participants from more than 40 countries, as an extraordinary accomplishment that should make all Malaysians proud. He also expressed appreciation to all participants, instructors, coaches and KEMAS personnel for their hard work, passion and dedication in representing Malaysia on the global stage. According to him, the achievement showcased Malaysia’s local culinary identity to the world through the creativity and skills demonstrated by KEMAS participants, ranging from traditional cuisine to modern culinary arts that received international recognition. Zahid said the success proved that skills training institutions under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) remain relevant in producing highly skilled talents capable of competing internationally.
