ALOR SETAR, September 22 2026, Two schoolboys were killed after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car at Jalan Nyior Chabang, Langkawi, today.
Langkawi district police chief ACP Khairul Azhar Nuruddin said the victims, both aged below 16, were pronounced dead at the scene following the 1.51 pm crash.
He said preliminary investigations found that the Yamaha Y15 motorcycle was travelling from Simpang Kenyum towards Nyior Chabang when the two victims allegedly overtook two cars travelling in the same direction.
The motorcycle then entered the opposite lane before colliding with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
The victims’ bodies were taken to the Forensic Unit of Sultanah Maliha Hospital for post-mortem examinations before being handed over to their families.
The three car drivers involved were uninjured but traumatised.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Police have urged witnesses and members of the public with dashcam footage from the area to come forward to assist investigations.
