SEREMBAN, July 23 — The Ministry of Communications and the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) have established and are jointly operating media centres to facilitate the smooth dissemination of information throughout the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election (PRN).
JAPEN Director-General Erwin Khairul Ahmad, Deputy Director-General (Strategic Communications) Rubaayah Osman, and Director of the Community Communication and Development Services Division Muhammad Najmi Mustapha visited the main media centre at Hotel Seri Malaysia in Seremban on Wednesday to inspect its operations.
The ministry said the media centre serves as a central hub for coordinating official information between government agencies, the Election Commission (EC), relevant authorities and members of the media covering the election.
The facility is equipped with internet access and dedicated workspaces to enable journalists to carry out their reporting efficiently throughout the election period.
In addition to the Seremban centre, two other media centres have been set up at the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) in Kampung Gentam, Kuala Pilah, and Kampung Paya, Port Dickson, to support election coverage across the state.
