KUALA LUMPUR, August 20 2026— UMNO remains committed to ensuring the stability of the Federal Government until the end of the current parliamentary term, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
She said the party’s commitment was important to ensure the government could continue carrying out its responsibilities smoothly without political disruptions that could affect the country’s stability.
Azalina said UMNO’s continued support for the Federal Government reflected the party’s commitment to political stability and the continuity of the current administration.
She stressed that maintaining a stable government was essential to ensure that development programmes, administrative priorities and matters affecting the people could continue without unnecessary disruption.
Her remarks reaffirm UMNO’s position that political stability at the federal level should be maintained despite differing political interests among coalition parties at the state level.
The commitment comes amid increased political attention ahead of several upcoming state-level developments, with coalition partners expected to navigate their respective political interests while maintaining cooperation at the federal level.
