National Day Celebration Shows Rising Patriotism – Ahmad Zahid

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 2026 — The 2026 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya here today was exceptional and better than those of previous years, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the vibrant celebration reflected the growing patriotic spirit among Malaysians.

“This year’s celebration is truly exceptional and better than in previous years. This shows that the patriotism of Malaysians is growing, Alhamdulillah,” he told the media after the celebration.

Earlier, Ahmad Zahid spent time mingling with members of the public who had thronged Dataran Putrajaya since early morning to watch the National Day 2026 parade and procession.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the King and Queen of Malaysia, graced the celebration, which was also attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Cabinet ministers.

Themed “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, the celebration drew more than 100,000 people, with 10,819 participants taking part in the parade across 76 contingents and 22 marching bands.
