KUALA LUMPUR, September 19 2026, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today flagged off participants of the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2026 in front of the Petronas Twin Towers here.
Anwar encouraged participants from all age groups and backgrounds to adopt a healthy lifestyle and take care of their health.
He also urged the public to take part in running activities while wearing the sarong as a symbol of Malaysian culture.
Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
Anwar, dressed in sports attire with a sarong sash, also joined participants in a three-kilometre walk.
Now in its third year, the Malaysia Sarong Music Run incorporates elements of Malaysian culture and heritage along the route, giving participants a closer experience of the country’s traditions.
