MELAKA, Oct 31 – Barisan Nasional (BN) has welcomed the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) signed by the MADANI Government, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and several independent Members of Parliament.
BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the agreement could encourage political cooperation and address public concerns.
He also proposed extending the arrangement to include more political parties from both the government and opposition blocs.
Zahid Supports Wider Cooperation
Ahmad Zahid described the agreement as a positive step towards greater cooperation in Parliament.
He said a similar arrangement had been used under a previous government led by an UMNO prime minister.
The Deputy Prime Minister was commenting on the agreement signed on Thursday.
MADANI Government Signs Agreement With MPs
The MADANI Government signed the agreement with six Bersatu MPs led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Seven other MPs also signed the agreement. They included Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the agreement would help ensure continuity in government administration.
It would also give the government room to carry out national development plans, including the 2027 Budget.
BN Wants More Parties Involved
Ahmad Zahid said BN hoped more political parties would join a similar arrangement.
He proposed including parties from both the government and opposition.
The proposal aims to encourage cooperation in Parliament and support the government’s efforts to carry out its national plans.
