PH Candidate Poo Long Suan Prioritises Face-to-Face Engagement in Duyong

MELAKA, Oct 31 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Poo Long Suan believes meeting voters in person is more important than building popularity on social media.

Poo is contesting the Duyong state seat in the 16th Melaka state election. He will face incumbent assemblyman Datuk Mohd Noor Helmy Abdul Halem.

The 43-year-old said direct engagement allows elected representatives to understand the needs and concerns of local residents.

He acknowledged that social media plays an important role in modern politics. However, he believes an assemblyman’s main responsibility is to serve the community through direct contact with the people.

“An assemblyman’s main responsibility is to serve the people. While having a social media presence is important nowadays, I believe meeting the people in person is far more important,” he said.

Poo Long Suan Highlights Local Development Priorities

Poo said he would draw on his experience as a former Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council member if elected.

He is also a member of the Melaka DAP Complaints Committee.

He acknowledged that improving residents’ quality of life would take time. Several areas of local development still need attention.

These include infrastructure, economic growth and traffic management.

Poo said previous representatives had contributed to the constituency. However, he believes more improvements are needed to make daily life easier for residents.
