Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from senior leadership of Huawei, led by Asia Pacific Region President Terry He and Huawei Malaysia CEO Simon Sun, in a meeting that underscored the country’s commitment to advancing its digital transformation agenda.
According to Anwar, the engagement provided an important platform for exchanging views on the future of Malaysia’s digital economy while reinforcing the long-standing strategic cooperation between the government and the global technology firm.
He emphasized that the MADANI economic framework remains central to the government’s vision, particularly in strengthening public-private partnerships, accelerating the development of digital talent, and empowering local industries to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
“The government is committed to ensuring that technological advancements translate into inclusive and meaningful benefits for all Malaysians,” Anwar said, stressing that no segment of society should be left behind as the nation progresses in the digital era.
The meeting reflects Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a regional digital hub while fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth through collaboration with global industry leaders.
