KUALA LUMPUR, 6 APRIL – Prime Minister and People's Justice Party (PKR) President Anwar Ibrahim called on party members in Johor to reinforce unity and remain committed to the reform agenda during the Johor State PKR Convention. Addressing party delegates, Anwar stressed that PKR Johor must continue to strengthen the spirit of togetherness across all levels, regardless of rank, in order to remain a mature and disciplined political force firmly rooted in its founding reform principles. He noted that Johor has produced many leaders entrusted as Members of Parliament, carrying the voice of the people, particularly on pressing issues such as the rising cost of living. He urged these leaders to fully honour that trust by focusing on grassroots engagement and public service, rather than personal interests. Touching on current global challenges, including the ongoing crisis in West Asia, Anwar called on party members to actively communicate and clarify the government’s efforts in safeguarding public welfare. He highlighted measures undertaken by the MADANI Government, including targeted fuel subsidies, ensuring sufficient supply of essential goods, and ongoing initiatives to strengthen Malaysia’s economic resilience to remain stable and competitive. At the same time, he emphasised that all policies and initiatives must effectively reach the people and deliver tangible benefits, without deviating from their original objectives. Anwar underscored the crucial role of party machinery at all levels as a bridge between the government and the rakyat. He said they must ensure accurate information is conveyed, help ease public concerns, and strengthen confidence in the country’s direction amid challenging times. --Minutes MY / Igneseous Noris --Photo: FB Anwar Ibrahim
