Anwar Urges Pakatan Harapan Johor Candidates to Campaign with Sincerity and Civility

KUALA LUMPUR, June 27 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on all Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates contesting in Johor to conduct their election campaigns with sincerity, courtesy and a strong commitment to earning the people’s trust.

In a message shared ahead of the campaign period, Anwar said candidates should engage with voters not merely to secure votes but to build lasting confidence through genuine service and dedication.

He also urged candidates to work hard throughout the campaign while demonstrating that respectful and civilised politics would always triumph over politics driven by hatred and division.

“Approach the people with a sincere heart, not just to win votes, but to build their trust. Work hard, be courteous to everyone and prove that civilised politics will always prevail over hate politics,” he said.

Anwar expressed confidence that Johor voters would make the right decision for the state’s future if candidates remained sincere in championing the welfare and interests of the people.

“Insya-Allah, when we sincerely defend the fate of the people of Johor, they will make the right choice for the future of our beloved state,” he said.

Quoting Verse 159 of Surah Ali ‘Imran, Anwar reminded candidates to place their trust in Allah after putting forth their best efforts.

“Then when you are determined, then put your trust in Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.”

He ended his message by rallying support for Pakatan Harapan’s campaign with the slogan, “Johor Forward. Vote for HOPE.”
