MELAKA, Oct 31 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Datuk Azman Abidin arrived at the nomination centre at Stadium Hang Jebat on Saturday morning to submit his nomination papers for the Paya Rumput state seat in the 2026 Melaka state election.
Azman, who serves as the political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, arrived at about 8.30am.
He was accompanied by PKR vice-president and PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
Supporters Gather at Nomination Centre
Supporters of various political parties began gathering outside the nomination centre as early as 8am.
The atmosphere was lively, with lion dance performances, party chants, slogans and flags as supporters showed their backing for the candidates.
Melaka Polling Dates Confirmed
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka state election.
Meanwhile, early voting will take place on Nov 10.
The nomination process marks the start of the next stage of the state election, with candidates preparing to campaign for their respective constituencies.
