PUTRAJAYA, July 9 — Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil attended the 2026 National Cyber Security Summit (NCSS) at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Wednesday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s cyber security ecosystem and digital resilience.
The three-day conference, held from July 7 to 9, was organised by the National Security Council (MKN) through the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) and brought together government agencies, industry leaders and cyber security experts to discuss emerging cyber threats, launch new security initiatives and showcase Malaysian technological innovations.
Fahmi’s attendance underscored the importance of close collaboration between the government, industry and academia in enhancing the nation’s cyber security capabilities amid the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Also present at the conference were Deputy Secretary-General (Telecommunication Infrastructure) of the Communications Ministry Mano Verabathran, Cyber Security and Security Officer (CSPO) of Huawei Technologies Malaysia Lee Han Ther, as well as representatives from academia, including lecturers and cyber security experts from the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU).
The summit served as a platform for stakeholders to exchange expertise, strengthen strategic cooperation and explore innovative solutions aimed at safeguarding Malaysia’s digital infrastructure and improving national cyber resilience.
