MELAKA, Nov 2 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Muhammad Mukhlisul Mubin Julasapiyah has rejected claims questioning his law degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The 24-year-old candidate, better known as Mukhlis Mubin, is contesting the Kuala Linggi state seat in the 16th Melaka State Election.
He confirmed that he had completed his law studies at UKM. He is also scheduled to attend his graduation ceremony on Nov 22.
Mukhlis Focuses on Kuala Linggi’s Development
Mukhlis said he wants to bring fresh ideas to Kuala Linggi.
He also hopes to rebuild young people’s confidence in politics. He believes young leaders can play an important role in improving their communities.
However, his plans are not limited to youth development.
He also wants to address issues affecting local residents. These include the challenges faced by fishermen and recurring floods in several areas.
Father’s Political Journey Inspires Mukhlis
Mukhlis said his decision to enter politics was inspired by his father, Julasapiyah Kassim.
His father had contested the Kuala Linggi seat five times but did not secure a victory.
Despite those defeats, his father continued serving the local community.
Mukhlis said watching his father’s dedication had encouraged him to follow the same path.
He now hopes to continue his father’s efforts and gain the trust of Kuala Linggi voters.
Three Candidates Contest Kuala Linggi
Mukhlis is making his electoral debut in the Melaka state election.
He will face two other candidates in the Kuala Linggi contest.
They are incumbent Datuk Rosli Abdullah from Barisan Nasional (BN) and Dr Nur Farhana Hamzah from Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama).
The Election Commission has set Nov 14 as polling day for the Melaka state election. Meanwhile, early voting will take place on Nov 10.
