GEORGE TOWN, July 11 – Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil was conferred the Darjah Panglima Pangkuan Negeri (DPPN), which carries the title “Datuk Seri” (Dato’ Seri), in conjunction with the 85th Official Birthday celebration of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Penang, Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, on Saturday.
Fahmi, who also serves as the MADANI Government spokesperson, headed the list of 230 recipients honoured at the 2026 Investiture Ceremony for Penang State Orders, Decorations and Medals held at Dewan Sri Pinang in George Town.
He was the sole recipient of the prestigious DPPN award this year, making it the highest state honour conferred during the ceremony.
The investiture ceremony was held in conjunction with the 85th Official Birthday of Tun Ramli Ngah Talib and recognised individuals for their outstanding contributions and service to the nation and the State of Penang.
Fahmi’s conferment reflects recognition of his public service and leadership in the communications portfolio, as well as his role as the spokesperson for the MADANI Government.
