Speaking at the Johor PKR Convention, Ramanan, who serves as the party’s Vice President, said the gathering was more than just a routine assembly, describing it as a crucial platform to reinforce unity, coordinate efforts, and reinvigorate the spirit of struggle among members at all levels. He said all party machinery across Johor must immediately update their preparations, strengthen internal structures, and ensure disciplined and well-organised operations to secure victory in the state polls. MUAR--Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has expressed disappointment with the Supreme Council of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) because the appointment of the Opposition Leader has not yet been made, while individuals who have been dismissed from the party continue to use the position. Its president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said he had sent a letter suggesting that the appointment should be made immediately, but to date no action has been taken. "It is certainly not appropriate for an unqualified person to still be hanging around using the position as Opposition Leader. "If it's empty, fill it in...there won't be any (candidates). If there are candidates, there's no need to wait for Parliament to convene." IPOH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hinted that he will not hold the 16th General Election (GE16) in the near future. Instead, he said, the priority now is to face the economic crisis caused by the conflict in West Asia. According to him, the current oil price surge crisis is an economic reality, not a political one. "This is not about political battles, being enemies with each other. I won't have an election in a month or two, be patient for a while. Tomorrow is election time, let's fight. Now it's work. Enough of politics, wake up, save our country," he said. PKR Information Chief Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said that despite facing various obstacles, the party remained steadfast as a result of its integrity of principles and the strength of its struggle that never faded. "JUSTICE (PKR) was born from the spirit of reform, in an effort to uphold justice, fight injustice, defend the people's voice and build a Malaysia that is more just, democratic and with integrity. "This journey has not been easy. We have gone through various tests, challenges and twists and turns. YB Fahmi, who is also the Communications Minister, stressed that party president and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has issued a firm warning that no individual—including ministers—would be shielded if implicated in misconduct. He reminded party members not to misuse their positions for personal gain or engage in actions that could tarnish the party’s image. Fahmi also recalled PKR’s past struggle against abuse of power, urging members not to repeat such practices within their own ranks. Speaking at the opening of the PKR Branch Annual General Meeting for the Federal Territories 2026 in Bandar Tun Razak, Fahmi cautioned leaders against becoming complacent. He noted that unexplained changes in lifestyle could invite negative public perception and erode trust. In an open letter addressed to Melaka PKR deputy chief Mohd Khuzaire Mohd Kamal and leaders of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), INCOTT national honorary secretary Muhammad Navalan Abdullah cautioned against recent calls for Rafizi Ramli to step down. The call for Rafizi’s resignation follows remarks by Mohd Khuzaire, who, according to an April 1 report by Sinar Harian, criticised the Pandan Member of Parliament for allegedly making repeated public attacks against the party.
