JOHOR BAHRU, July 6 – Pakatan Harapan Deputy Chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu yesterday has called on Johor voters to exercise their democratic rights by casting their ballots on July 11, stressing that every vote will determine the future direction of the state. Speaking at the Johor Hope Tour Talk held at the JIASON Supermarket Compound in Masai on Sunday night, Mohamad, popularly known as "Bang Mat", urged the people not to leave the state's future in the hands of others. He said the MADANI Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is working tirelessly to strengthen Malaysia's economy through increased investments, job creation and people-centric initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of all Malaysians. According to Mohamad, Johor stands to benefit even more by having a state government that works in tandem with the Federal Government, enabling development projects, investment opportunities and government assistance to be implemented more effectively for the benefit of the people. He expressed confidence that with a strong mandate from the people, Pakatan Harapan would continue to drive Johor towards becoming a more developed, stable and prosperous state while ensuring that no community is left behind, regardless of race or religion. Mohamad also reiterated Pakatan Harapan's commitment to advancing Johor's development agenda and called on voters to support the coalition in the upcoming state election. Batu Anam, Johor – Deputy Minister of National Unity, YB Yuneswaran Ramaraj, said that continuous community engagement remains an important approach in strengthening unity and understanding among Malaysia’s multi-ethnic society. He said this in reference to a ramah mesra session with the Chinese community held during a luncheon programme at Gan Sheng Seafood Restaurant, Batu Anam, involving Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Buloh Kasap state seat, Rozy Razit (No. 2 HARAPAN). JOHOR JAYA, July 4 -- Pakatan Harapan candidate for N.42 Johor Jaya, Lee Wern Yiing, said she had previously worked together with former Johor Jaya assemblywoman, Liow Cai Tung, and their team to revive a vacant space in Kampung Baru Plentong that was once reduced to “just two remaining walls.” She said the area has now been successfully transformed into a multi-purpose community activity centre, serving as a gathering place for residents and a venue for various celebrations and community activities. Lee Wern Yiing stressed that a dynamic community requires safe, comfortable, and inclusive public spaces for all groups, including youth and the elderly. She added that the transformation effort was not only focused on beautification, but also on ensuring the space serves multiple practical functions. KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 – The Youth Chief of the Progressive People's Party of Malaysia (PPP Malaysia), Sathiah Sudakaran, is of the view that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) manifesto which targets Johor as the "Shenzhen of Southeast Asia" needs to be accompanied by evidence of implementation capabilities, in addition to a record of achievements in the states governed by the coalition. According to him, the people have the right to question the extent to which the target can be realised if the states under PH administration have not yet shown achievements comparable to the development model being highlighted. He also raised the issue of the Selangor government's stance in not allowing the construction of a new piggery due to several considerations, describing the situation as raising questions about the consistency of the development and economic approach brought by PH. "Economic and development policies should be implemented consistently and guided by the interests of the people and the state, rather than changing according to the current political narrative," he said in a statement. Youth Leader of the People's Progressive Party of Malaysia (PPP Malaysia), Sathiah Sudakaran Commenting on current developments in Johor, Sathiah said the state had recorded positive economic performance under the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration led by Johor Menteri Besar, Onn Hafiz Ghazi. According to him, Johor has successfully attracted investments worth billions of ringgit, strengthened the development of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), created more quality job opportunities and increased the confidence of local and international investors. He said the success was not just the result of slogans or manifestos, but rather stemmed from clear policies, stable administration and cooperation between the Johor State Government and the Federal Government. Meanwhile, Sathiah also commented on PH's promise to bring back 20,000 Malaysians working in Singapore. He opined that the effort needed more than just incentives, but rather needed to be supported by the provision of high-income job opportunities, a conducive investment environment, world-class infrastructure and confidence in Johor's economic prospects. He said PPP Malaysia is confident that the people of Johor will make an assessment based on a government's record of achievement, administrative stability and ability to continue the state's development agenda.
