Aesha Khadeeja Anuar, 10, said she and her younger brother, Uwais AlQorni, 8, never expected their spontaneous gesture of giving their Hari Raya money to the Prime Minister as he was about to board a plane at Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Nerus last night, would be returned today, leaving them with a particularly special memory. “…my brother, mother (Liza Fazilah Abdul Hamid, 49) and I were on our way home after coming back from Quran lessons. 114 APRIL -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today chaired a coordination meeting in Kuching on the implementation of Rural Water Supply (BALB) projects in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government. He described the initiative, driven at the federal level through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW), as a “game changer” aimed at improving coordination and effectiveness in the delivery of rural water supply projects across the state. Zahid said that for 2026, a total of 80 new and ongoing projects will be implemented with an allocation of RM141.87 million under the First Rolling Plan (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13). He noted that the approach would enhance coordination at the state level while ensuring smoother execution on the ground. “Our focus is to ensure that rural communities receive better and more comprehensive access to clean water. KUALA LUMPUR -- Police have arrested a driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run incident involving a traffic police officer on Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra, here last Friday. Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) head ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa confirmed that the suspect was arrested this evening to assist in the investigation into the case. "The suspect was arrested this evening and the police are currently in the process of preparing a report and conducting a urine and breathalyzer test (EBA) on the suspect," he said. Earlier, a video recording went viral showing a vehicle trying to flee until it crashed into a four-wheel drive vehicle while being chased by traffic police officers. In the incident at 10.47pm last Friday, a 27-year-old traffic police constable was injured after being hit from behind by the vehicle involved while carrying out traffic control duties at the intersection. The driver of the car then fled towards the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) without stopping to provide assistance to the victim. The victim, who suffered wounds to his right palm and the back of his head, as well as pain in his ribs, was rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) by a Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance.

KUALA LUMPUR, JULY 16 -- Police have arrested another individual to assist in investigations into the murder of a man at a hotel in Sunway Mentari, Petaling Jaya on July 8. Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the man, in his 40s, was arrested last Monday and remanded for four days until tomorrow to assist in the investigation. He said the remand period of two men in their 20s and 30s who were previously detained expired today, and would be extended to assist with investigations. "The investigation papers regarding this case will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor this week," he said in a statement today. Previously, the media reported that a man in his 30s was found unconscious in a hotel before being reported dead at 11.23pm.
